Iran President Confirms Release of Half Frozen Funds Held in Qatar Amid US Talks

Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi announced on Monday that half of the Iranian funds frozen in Qatar, amounting to 6 billion dollars out of 12 billion, will soon be released and returned to Iran. This development follows reports of an agreement to halt attacks in the Strait of Hormuz and resume negotiations between Iran and the United States. Raisi described the recent agreement as a significant achievement and a major victory for the Iranian people. He emphasized that despite US and Israeli expectations that Iran would collapse under economic pressure and internal turmoil, the Iranian people, armed forces, and government have steadfastly defended the country and thwarted enemy objectives.

Raisi also addressed ongoing negotiations with the US, particularly concerning Iran's nuclear program. He reiterated Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei's previous statements that Iran does not seek to develop nuclear weapons, affirming that the Islamic Republic maintains this position today.
