Yotam Zamri Accuses Legal Advisers of Blocking Probe into Shin Bet Leak Over Religious Bias

During a broadcast on Channel 14's program "The Patriots," panelist Yotam Zamri sharply criticized the legal advisory team for opposing an investigation into the leak of the Shin Bet's "Roaring Lion" operation to Channel 12. Zamri highlighted that the head of Shin Bet had ordered a probe into the leak, which allegedly revealed sensitive operational details prematurely, noting that Channel 12's reporter Yonit Levi was already prepared with makeup and wardrobe before the operation began.

Zamri questioned the legal advisers' resistance to the investigation and suggested it was driven by personal vendettas. He claimed they were "settling scores" with Shin Bet chief Ronen Bar, whom he described as religious and wearing a kippah, implying that this religious identity was a factor in the opposition. Zamri stated, "They are closing accounts with Zini because he wants to investigate who leaked to Channel 12," and added that the campaign against Bar continues daily due to his religious observance.

The controversy centers on the leak of a high-profile security operation and the ensuing internal conflict between the Shin Bet leadership and the legal advisory bodies, with accusations of bias and obstruction of justice emerging. The investigation ordered by Shin Bet's chief remains a focal point amid these tensions.
