Israeli Paralympic Athletes Achieve Major Successes in Europe and Australia
Israeli Paralympic athletes have recently secured notable achievements on the international stage. Amit Hasdai won a bronze medal in the H2 class road race at the European Handcycling Championship, completing the 39.6 km course in 1:11:31 hours and finishing third on the podium. At 42 years old, Hasdai continues a strong performance streak, having recently won first place in the World Cup series in Thailand and placing fourth at the Paris Paralympic Games.
In taekwondo, Adnan Milad claimed gold at the President's Cup in Australia. Milad defeated a Brazilian opponent 2-0 in the semifinals and then won 2-0 against a Saudi competitor in the final. This victory marks his second consecutive gold medal within two weeks, following a win in a tournament held in Germany. Milad, who lost his right arm in a work accident six years ago, is establishing himself as one of Israel's leading Paralympic taekwondo fighters internationally.
Additionally, handcyclist Sharon Levy made his debut at the European Championship, finishing 12th in the class 4 category. Levy completed the 18.6 km course in 34:53 minutes. This was his first international competition after sustaining injuries during police operational duties five years ago.
These accomplishments by Hasdai, Milad, and Levy highlight the ongoing progress of Israeli Paralympic sports on the world stage. Their medals and strong performances in prestigious competitions demonstrate Israel's growing presence and ambition in international Paralympic sports.
