Judge Menachem Mizrahi Promoted to District Court After Criticizing 'Qatar-Gate' Arrests
The Judicial Selection Committee, chaired by Justice Minister Yariv Levin, has appointed approximately 70 judges to youth, traffic, and family courts with unanimous agreement among committee members. Additionally, several current presidents of magistrate courts were selected for future district court judgeships. Among them is Judge Menachem Mizrahi, president of the Magistrate Court in Rishon Lezion, who is notably recognized for his critical remarks regarding police arrests and conduct in the "Qatar-Gate" affair. The committee unanimously approved Mizrahi's promotion. However, he will not immediately assume his role as a district court judge; instead, he will take up the position after completing his term as president of the magistrate court.
