Quality AI Software Testing Firm Plans to Hire 100 Amid Industry Layoffs

While many recent layoffs in Israel's high-tech sector have hit software testing (QA) roles due to AI-driven automation, the veteran software testing company QualiTest is taking a different approach. The company, which recently rebranded as Quality AI and has nearly 30 years of experience, is launching a recruitment drive to hire 100 new employees in Israel for roles including software testers, SAP testers, cloud testing experts, and automation specialists.

Quality AI employs around 7,000 people globally, with 1,500 based in Israel, and all new positions will be at its Israeli branch. The company confirmed plans to actively recruit recently laid-off workers from Wix, which cut 1,000 jobs, signaling a targeted hiring strategy. This move contrasts with trends at other firms like Check Point, which recently disbanded its QA department, reallocating or letting go of staff as AI replaced manual testing.

Quality AI explains that as AI systems become integral to business operations, the real challenge is ensuring their reliability. Many organizations now require enhanced planning, monitoring, and validation of AI-based systems, creating new demands for skilled testers. The company also emphasized that some layoffs attributed to AI adoption are actually workforce optimizations unrelated to AI, a practice they term "AI Washing." Their hiring initiative aims to address these evolving needs and counteract such misleading trends.
