Czanz Hasidic Community Celebrates Grand Week of Sheva Brachot for Rebbe’s Granddaughter
The Czanz Hasidic community recently celebrated the wedding of the Rebbe’s granddaughter, daughter of Rabbi Yosef Moshe Dov Halberstam, head of the Czanz Yeshiva and chief rabbi of Czanz in the United States. The joyous event spanned an entire week filled with elaborate Sheva Brachot ceremonies attended by thousands of Hasidim, admirers, numerous rebbes, rabbis, and public figures.
The bride married Rabbi Naftali Glick from London, grandson of Rabbi Yosef Shlomo Glick, a leader of the Tshabin Yeshiva, and Rabbi Moshe Yehuda Halperin, chief rabbi of Radomishl London. A highlight of the week was a special Sheva Brachot ceremony held by Czanz institutions in Bnei Brak, marking the 60th anniversary of the community’s establishment in the city known for Torah and Hasidic life.
Another significant spiritual event was the emotional Siyum HaShas, celebrating a group of scholars who studied and were tested monthly on 70 pages of Talmud, Rashi, and Tosafot. These scholars completed the entire Talmud during the week, with the Rebbe leading the celebration. The central Sheva Brachot was combined with a lavish dinner honoring the "Brothers for Joy" charity, which supports newlyweds and bar mitzvah boys by funding most wedding night expenses through monthly donations from generous supporters.
The week concluded with a final Sheva Brachot ceremony held in the holy sanctuary, coinciding with the yahrzeit of the Rebbe known as the "Shefa Chaim" of Czanz. Photographer Moshe Goldstein documented the entire series of celebrations, capturing the spiritual and communal joy of the Czanz Hasidim.
