Hapoel Be'er Sheva has sold out its season tickets after winning the championship, with demand coming well before the start of the new season. A total of 12,600 season tickets were sold across all sections of Turner Stadium, meaning the reigning champions are set to play every home match in front of a full house.
The surge in demand reflects the excitement among the club's fans after the title win. The article says the team’s southern supporters snapped up the full allocation, leaving no inventory available.
Separately, Be'er Sheva’s municipality has already published a tender to expand Turner Stadium. The deadline for bids is May 28, and applicants must provide a guarantee of about NIS 25,000. The city wants to add 14,000 seats, bringing capacity to 30,000, at an initial estimated cost of NIS 300 million. The winning bidder will serve as the lead planner, and no completion date has yet been set in the contract.
The planned project also includes additional floors for a lobby, a new roof for the stands, and a surrounding layout for sports and leisure activities in an effort to generate extra revenue. According to the Be'er Sheva economic development company, bidders must have experience building either a hall with at least 8,000 seats and work costs of no less than NIS 100 million, or two public buildings of 20,000 square meters each. Turner Stadium opened in 2015 after four years of construction, replaced the old Vasermil Stadium, and currently has 16,126 seats. In Israel, only Sammy Ofer and Teddy already have 30,000 seats, while the country’s largest stadium is Ramat Gan with 31,733 seats, though only 7,000 seats are now permitted there.
