Singer and composer Moshe David Weissmandl marked the brit milah of his third son on Wednesday, in a celebration that drew leading figures from the Hasidic music scene. The family announced the baby’s name as Naftali Tzvi Aryeh, and the event was described as festive and uplifting.
Among the guests was singer and composer Bentzi Stein, a close family friend, who both sang at the celebration and helped with the honors during the ceremony. The article notes that Stein has worked with Weissmandl before, including on several musical projects.
One of their better-known collaborations was the performance of the medley “Ba’at Neilat Sha’ar” with Ahraleh Samet and Moti Wiesel, which was well received in the Hasidic public. Weissmandl and Stein have also partnered on other successful musical releases.
Weissmandl, who had a successful year with his debut album “Bakol Na’im,” continues to balance his music career with family life. A few weeks ago, he performed at a large show at Binyanei HaUma in Jerusalem, singing “Ki Yeminecha” on a 360-degree stage before thousands of yeshiva students. The article also recalls that he is a Skverer Hasid and last year released the lively single “Shehecheyanu” with Shmuelik Longer and Avreimi Longer, composed for a historic Torah scroll dedication in the Skver community.
