Israel Police said it has completed its operational preparations for the Ohr HaChaim pilgrimage, which will be held on Monday and Tuesday, June 29-30, 2026, at the gravesite complex on the Mount of Olives in Jerusalem. The event is expected to draw thousands of participants.
Police said officers from the Shalem station will be deployed with uniformed and undercover forces, Border Police fighters, volunteers, and emergency and rescue teams. Their role is to protect attendees, ensure the pilgrimage proceeds safely and properly, and maintain public order.
Road closures will begin on Monday at 5:00 p.m. for vehicles on Derech Yericho, HaOfeil, and Sultan Suleiman Street. Alternative routes for drivers will be Maale HaShalom, Wadi al-Joz, and Ibn Adya. Public transport routes to the Western Wall will continue on their normal paths without changes.
From 7:00 p.m., shuttle lines 551, 552, and 553 will operate from the Ramot Junction to the pilgrimage site. Police also banned drones and any other aircraft in the pilgrimage area and nearby surroundings. In an emergency, the public was instructed to call 100, and for information to call the national police information line, 110. Police urged the public to follow officers' instructions, be patient, and stay updated on traffic arrangements.
