Trump to Kan News: I Think Israel Has Responded Enough, No More Is Needed
U.S. President Donald Trump spoke with Kan News on Sunday evening and said of the Iranian attack on Israeli territory, "I think Israel has responded enough, they do not need to respond any more. We can achieve peace after 3,000 years." The president also told Axios that he plans to call Prime Minister Netanyahu and tell him not to strike Iran.
Earlier in the evening, Fox News correspondent Trey Yingst reported in the president's name: "I am telling Iran, you fired your missiles, that's enough. Go back to the negotiating table and make a deal. I am still optimistic that negotiations will continue later this week." Trump also said on the network that the Israeli attacks in Beirut were not coordinated with the American administration and that he was not pleased with them. Trump added that the U.S. military is the strongest in the world and is on alert, but that he is suggesting the Iranians reach an agreement so that it will not have to be used.
Fire from Iran toward Israel resumed this evening, for the first time since the ceasefire began, after threats from Tehran that it would respond to the strike in the Dahieh. Prime Minister Netanyahu held a narrow security meeting amid Tehran's threats. The situation assessment on the issue was set after public threats from Qalibaf.
