Report: Iranian negotiators consulted psychologists to understand Trump
Iranian negotiators told intermediaries that they had consulted a team of psychologists to better understand how President Donald Trump thinks, according to a Wall Street Journal report citing those mediators. The diplomats were said to have worked with the experts in an effort to predict how Trump would publicly respond to Iran’s proposals.
The report also said Iranian diplomats read Trump’s 1987 book, "The Art of the Deal," in which he describes his bargaining style as a property mogul. The goal, according to the intermediaries, was to better anticipate his negotiating behavior and likely public reaction.
