Power was cut in Sevastopol, the largest city in Russia-annexed Crimea, after a Ukrainian attack, according to the Moscow-appointed governor of the city, Mikhail Razvozhaev, who wrote on Telegram. He said the outage followed the strike and affected the city on the Crimean peninsula.
Earlier, Razvozhaev reported that air defense systems intercepted nine drones over Sevastopol. The message did not say whether the drones caused damage before being shot down.
Sevastopol is the biggest city in Crimea, a peninsula Russia annexed. The report gave no immediate details on casualties, the extent of the damage, or when electricity would be restored.
