Emirati carrier flydubai plans a major expansion on the Tel Aviv-Dubai route, increasing service from seven daily flights to about 10 a day starting June 27. The move brings the route close to its pre-war level of activity, as demand remains strong.
The airline’s decision comes amid efforts by Israel’s Transport Ministry to increase flight options between Israel and the United Arab Emirates. In recent months, the ministry has offered flydubai unused slots at Ben Gurion Airport that became available after foreign airlines cut back or halted operations in Israel.
Since the war began, flydubai has been one of the few foreign airlines to keep flying to Israel, even during periods of security instability. That continuity has made it a major option for Israeli travelers, both for direct flights and for international connections.
Industry officials say the expansion reflects both recovering demand and flydubai’s effort to strengthen its foothold in the Israeli market. The company is also reportedly considering further local expansion, including the possibility of opening its first base in Israel. Meanwhile, the situation remains one-sided, Israeli airlines are still not flying to Dubai after recent security guidance from the Shin Bet suspended those flights until September 2026.
