Israel Police Commissioner, Chief Superintendent Danny Levi, sent a letter Monday night to all police personnel as the force faces what he described as mounting security and operational challenges. His message came against the backdrop of recent reporting about an internal investigation involving police officers, including Lior Aboodrahem, head of the police spokesperson unit, and Superintendent Alona Shoham, head of Human Resources, in connection with allegations raised by Kobi Yaakobi about an investigation the Police Internal Investigations Department conducted into him.
In the letter, Levi said the Israel Police is operating on both the front line and the home front against threats from Iran, the fighting in the north, and crime. He praised officers and fighters for their work in ongoing operations and routine missions.
Addressing the probe involving police officers, Levi wrote that “the clarification of the facts is in the hands of the authorized bodies, and I trust their professional and thorough work.” He added that “all those involved are entitled to the presumption of innocence, and we will respect the process and allow it to proceed as required.”
Levi also called on the force to maintain unity and stay focused on operational tasks. He said the police’s strength rests on thousands of officers, fighters, and commanders who work daily for public security, and closed by saying, “I am proud of you, appreciate the resilience you show, support your work, and trust you.”
