Former Prime Minister Naftali Bennett told the JNS International Policy Conference that he is “a right-wing man, but not a schmuck.” He said his views on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict are clear and unchanged, adding, “I am right-wing. I have not changed my views.”
Bennett said there is “a huge difference” between being right-wing and being extreme. In his view, being right-wing means defending Israel’s national interests, not giving up territory, and not allowing the creation of a Palestinian state.
He also argued that political seriousness should not be confused with recklessness, saying that being right-wing does not mean “being stupid” or posting “childish tweets all day.”
