Former Likud MK Oren Hazan said in an interview on the Maariv podcast with Miki Levin that he will not support Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu unless he secures what Hazan called a decisive military victory in the north. Hazan said Netanyahu must act immediately and end the war with a win against Lebanon, warning that if he does not, he will “fold.”
When Levin challenged whether Israel could really defeat Hezbollah and asked whether he was effectively calling for the conquest of all Lebanon, Hazan doubled down. “If need be, we will conquer Lebanon,” he said, adding, “You can always win.”
Hazan then tied his support for Netanyahu to broader action against Iran. He said that if Netanyahu does not end the northern campaign by restoring security to residents of the northern border and does not take action to dismantle what he described as the “dangerous” and “anti-Zionist” agreement with Iran, he cannot vote for him.
Hazan argued that this view is shared by many in the national camp, who want concrete results rather than promises. “There are many like me now,” he said. “We are not fools. We do not defend blindly and go along like a herd. The right-wing public in Israel is an educated public. It is a smart public. It knows what it is doing.”
