In a daily video commentary, Ariel Shreffer reflected on a grim day marked by multiple funerals and ongoing war losses. He recalled singer Idan Raichel’s line, “Everything here will change tomorrow,” and said it feels untrue in the current reality because, in his words, they fought and nothing changed, shouted and nothing changed, and sacrificed and nothing changed.
Shreffer said there were five funerals in one day, including four tank crew members who fell together. He also pointed to three major news broadcasts that aired reports about death, and to two leaders he described as quarrelling “like foolish children” over one matter of honor.
He added that “only one singer of ours” dared to ask God what He wants from the people. The segment ended with a prayer for the Kaddish said for the children and a hope that, as Raichel had sung, “everything here will change tomorrow.”
The video was presented as a personal opinion segment, with the disclaimer that it was not intended to offend. It is part of “HaNekuda HaAduma,” a daily feature on the Srugim website.
