Israel’s High Court of Justice issued an order nisi on Sunday night against the election of State Comptroller Michael Ravilo. The court also decided to broaden the bench to five justices.
On Monday, the court announced the composition of the enlarged panel. It will be headed by Supreme Court President Justice Isaac Amit and Deputy President Justice Noam Sohlberg, alongside Justice Dafna Barak-Erez, Justice Gila Canfy-Steinitz and Justice Ruth Ronen.
Only two of the five justices are considered conservative, a balance that may hint at the eventual outcome of the case. The ruling will determine the fate of the legal challenge to Ravilo’s appointment as state comptroller.
