Maccabi Tel Aviv announced on Monday that youth-team midfielder Eran Ginat has signed his first professional contract with the club. The deal runs for three years and includes an option for one additional season.
Ginat joined Maccabi’s youth department at age 13 and has developed steadily through the system. Over the past two seasons, he played for the under-19 side and was described as an important contributor to the team’s Israeli youth championship title.
The midfielder has also represented Israel at the under-16, under-17 and under-18 levels, making a total of 16 appearances for the various youth national teams. The club did not announce any immediate senior-team plans, but the new contract secures his future at Maccabi through at least the next three seasons.
Ginat said that since joining Maccabi at 13, he had set himself a goal and a dream, and added that signing his first professional deal brought him closer to fulfilling it. “From here there is a lot of work ahead of me so I can progress as high as possible,” he said.
