A dramatic video from Effingham, Illinois, shows Trevor Jason Krak filming from inside his home as a tornado struck and destroyed the house around him. The clip, which spread widely online, captures the moment the storm hit while he was already sheltering inside during a developing storm.
In the footage, Krak looks around and warns, “Dude, there is a tornado outside right now,” as the wind grows stronger. Within seconds, the tornado slams directly into the building, plunging the interior into darkness and filling the background with loud collapsing sounds.
After the worst of the winds eased, the recording showed the scale of the damage. The roof had been torn off, debris was scattered across the property, and blood was visible on Krak’s hand.
At the end of the video, Krak appears stunned as he looks up at the open sky and says, “My God. What the world just happened? Oh, I need to go back under there,” before seeking shelter again.
