Viki Chalmi, one of the new participants in “Married at First Sight,” gave a look inside her small bachelor apartment ahead of her debut on the new season, which airs Sunday on Keshet 12. The apartment, she said, reflects her personality, her love of symbols and the life she hopes to build with a partner.
Chalmi lives with her pit bull, Kuan, whom she called her “bodyguard.” She said she chose the breed because she likes what others tend to reject, adding that pit bulls give her affection, touch and warmth that she does not find in other dogs. She also spoke about her deep connection to horses, saying she owns one, competes in the field and wants to live in a moshav because city life is hard for her.
The home is sparse and functional, with an open living room and kitchen, a large gray sofa, the dog’s bed, a TV, and a dining table. In the kitchen she has only what she needs, including a stove, a Ninja appliance and a microwave, but no oven because she does not bake. She said she is not good at cooking, eats mostly healthy food such as salads and eggs, and prefers to order food when she wants to treat herself.
Chalmi described an intense training routine and said she works out every day. She previously appeared on “Ninja Israel” and said she loves unconventional workouts and strength training. Her mornings are usually free for a long walk with the dog, an early ride because of the heat, coffee at home and then work teaching classes. She also shared awards, medals and memorabilia from competitions and from her role in a recent “The Jungle Book” stage production, calling it a childhood dream and a chance to perform with actors she grew up watching. She said the one thing she would take if she had to move suddenly, besides the dog and guitar, would be her trophies, certificates and photos, because “everything else can be bought again,” but those items represent her path. Chalmi said her dream is to leave the apartment only for a relationship and eventually marriage.
