Netflix's New Sci-Fi Series Draws Mockery for Its First Half-Episode
A Hebrew TV review published on June 20, 2026, takes aim at a new Netflix science fiction series in which hostile aliens invade Earth, wipe out most armies, destroy entire cities, and kill most of humanity. The story is set about six months after the invasion.
The series follows a group of survivors, described by the reviewer as the “good” side, as they try to stay alive, fight the aliens, and battle another group of survivors who are framed as the “bad” side. Along the way, the characters also try to uncover what the aliens actually want from humans.
The reviewer says the leader of the good survivors is deeply unlikeable, calling him an unsympathetic macho figure who speaks in short lines and stares intensely at his subordinates, who then rush in fear to obey him. The aliens are said to look human except for being purple, bald, and resembling a cheap toy.
The critic says that, based on the half episode he watched, neither the suspense nor the action works. He adds that perhaps it becomes something better later, “in the style of Star Wars,” but he did not continue watching and instead “caught a flying saucer on the way to bed.”
