Rabbi Aaron Mendel Twersky, the eldest son of the Skverer Rebbe, visited Israel last week and brought his father’s blessing to a highly emotional gathering of Skverer Hasidim in Beit Shemesh. During the visit, he honored the ceremonial entry of a new Torah scroll and the housewarming of the community’s new synagogue in Ramat D, where he conveyed the Rebbe’s blessing to the excited crowd.
The Beit Shemesh event was one of several major Hasidic celebrations reported from around the country, but the Skverer gathering stood out because of the direct message from the Rebbe in the United States. The visit was described as a noble and impressive one, and it culminated in the dedication of the new beit midrash for Skverer Hasidim in the city.
The broader roundup also described the last sheva berakhot for the wedding of the son of the late Czanz-Zimigrod Rebbe in Bnei Brak, a hachnasat sefer Torah and hachnasat bayit for the Charnei Avoz Torah school in Netanya, and a major Torah celebration in Satmar Vizhnitz led by multiple admorim and rabbis. Another report said the Babov court is launching a new policy to reduce the cost of frequent sheva berakhot events, including a $2,000 grant for the first 60 families that opt for smaller home celebrations.
Additional items noted a hachnasat sefer for Nadvorna children in Bnei Brak, a major wedding celebration in Czanz in Netanya, and other Hasidic news and teachings. The Skverer visit itself was presented as a moment of joy and blessing for the community in Beit Shemesh.
