Former NBA guard-forward Lance Stephenson was involved in a fight during a BIG3 game in the United States over the weekend, reminding fans of his long-standing image as one of basketball’s most confrontational figures. The incident happened in the matchup between Miami 305 and LA Riot, when Stephenson clashed with Jordan Crawford.
After Stephenson committed a hard foul and threw the ball into Crawford’s chest, the situation escalated into a scuffle on the court. Stephenson was seen swinging a punch, and players and staff from both teams quickly joined the pushing and shoving. The game ended ahead of schedule after several ejections.
The 35-year-old has built a reputation over the years for provoking opponents, both psychologically and physically. Last month, he made headlines again when he beat former NBA player Michael Beasley in 64 seconds in an exhibition MMA bout in Las Vegas. Ironically, Stephenson and Beasley now play together in BIG3.
Stephenson was the No. 6 pick in the 2010 NBA Draft and played for Indiana, the Los Angeles Lakers, Memphis, New Orleans and Atlanta. NBA fans especially remember his attempts to throw LeBron James off his game, including the famous ear-blowing moment in the 2014 Eastern Conference Finals. Social media users were not surprised, calling it the most Lance Stephenson video imaginable and saying that when he is on the floor, something is always likely to happen.
