Moshe Feiglin, chairman of the Zehut party, urged Israel to abandon what he described as a restrained, reactive security policy and shift to decisive military initiative. In a post published recently, he said Israel is facing a choice between becoming a regional power that no one dares challenge, or ceasing to exist as a state.
Feiglin argued that the current approach, which he said is guided by American interests, has left Israel in a dangerous dead end. He said only total military defeat of Israel’s enemies would restore international respect for the country. In his words, Israel must “take them back to the Stone Age,” because there is no other way to stop what he called the existential threat to Israel.
He specifically called for a rapid strike on Iran, saying Israel should destroy all of Iran’s civilian infrastructure within a day or a day and a half, with oil first. He said Iran’s economy depends on oil, which funds proxy groups, the nuclear program and rockets, and that eliminating Iran’s ability to function as a modern state is the only way to stop the threat.
Feiglin also demanded wider military action in Lebanon, saying Israel should “flatten most of the Dahiya,” referring to the Beirut suburb associated with Hezbollah. He dismissed concerns about international backlash, claiming that a forceful offensive would improve Israel’s standing abroad. He said Israel should act first, not wait, and concluded that the country is at a crossroads between regional dominance and national survival.
