Cafe Tzin, the casual sister project of chef restaurant Botz in Mitzpe Ramon, is being presented as an ideal stop on the way south to Eilat. The new spot, opened by chefs Tal Ashkenazi and Omer Seltzer and run by chef Yigal Molner, leans on local, Israeli agricultural ingredients in a more accessible, everyday format than Botz.
The café is located outside the Beersheba Quarter, in a wide stone building with high ceilings and large windows looking out over the desert. It has a shaded front seating area and a pleasant courtyard, while birds move freely in and out of the space. Ordering is self-service, meals are collected from the counter, and trays are returned to a designated area, matching the relaxed feel.
The menu changes by time of day. Breakfast includes trays with bread, eggs, salads and homemade spreads for 72 to 74 shekels, including a full vegan version, plus eggs Benedict and toast. There are also mezze deals, two for 55 shekels or 60 for the fish mezze with bread. Among the dishes the article highlights are eggplant mousse, egg salad, confit fish with herbs, and roasted zucchini on yogurt and za'atar stone.
At lunch, the menu expands to salads, pasta and fish dishes, including cacio e pepe, gnocchi, tortellini, linguine and fish shawarma, priced at 62 to 94 shekels. The café also offers children’s dishes, quick items like pastries and cakes, and house coffee from roastery 51. The piece says the nearby pantry sells products from Wadi Attir, and the chocolate mousse in a jar is a must. Cafe Tzin is at Hahar Oded 5, Mitzpe Ramon, and is open Sunday to Wednesday from 08:00 to 16:00 and Friday from 08:00 to 15:00.
