The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange is set to open the last trading day of the week amid renewed geopolitical uncertainty, after overnight IDF strikes in southern Lebanon and Tehran announced it was postponing a signing ceremony for an agreement with the United States that had been scheduled for today.
Local equities have been volatile this week. The main indexes fell for three straight sessions at the start of the week after news of a US-Iran agreement, then recovered partly yesterday and closed up 1%.
For the four trading days so far this week, the TA-35 has lost 3.7% and the TA-125 has declined 4.3%.
Wall Street futures are also pointing lower, with the Dow Jones futures down 0.3%, the S&P 500 futures down 0.6%, and Nasdaq futures already off 1%. US markets are closed today for Juneteenth and will resume trading on Monday.
