Cabinet minister and political-security cabinet member Gila Gamliel issued a sharp message to Tehran on Thursday evening, stressing Israel's determination to stop Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons. She spoke at a political gathering in Petah Tikva hosted by Likud activist Asi Shahar.
Gamliel said, "The prime minister insists that Iran will not have nuclear weapons." She then turned to the future of Iran's ayatollah-led rule and told the audience, "I repeat and I will remind you, the bad regime in Iran will fall."
Her remarks came amid ongoing security tensions and continual cabinet discussions about Iran's military buildup and that of its proxies in the Middle East. The event in Petah Tikva drew many supporters and focused both on urgent security issues and on the movement's political preparations.
