Senior Palestinian Authority Delegation Visits Khan al-Ahmar in Show of Support

A senior Palestinian Authority delegation arrived in Khan al-Ahmar to mark territory. The visit was held in response to statements by Minister Bezalel Smotrich about evacuating the site soon and taking steps against the Palestinian Authority.
A senior Palestinian Authority delegation, including four ministers and foreign ambassadors, arrived today, Wednesday, for an unusual show of support at the illegal outpost of Khan al-Ahmar near Jerusalem. The delegation was headed by Foreign Minister Varsen Aghabekian, joined by Minister of Public Works I'nas Ddahdah, Minister for Women’s Affairs Mona Al-Khalili, and Education Minister Amjad Barham. The delegation also included many foreign diplomatic representatives. The outpost, located in Area C and home to about 200 residents, was draped with the terrorist flags of the PLO.
In an official statement published by the Palestinian Authority’s Jerusalem Affairs Ministry, it said this was an “extraordinary and unusual visit in light of the escalation of Israeli threats to evacuate the village and expel its residents.” The visit, led by the ministry, is a direct response to Israel’s intentions to act against the illegal construction there. 1 + Senior PA officials in Khan al-Ahmar | Photo: Arab networks
The event comes after a statement last month by Finance Minister and Minister in the Defense Ministry Bezalel Smotrich, saying he would evacuate the site “as soon as possible.” Smotrich promised to immediately sign an order to evacuate Khan al-Ahmar and threatened to strike the Palestinian Authority with every tool at his disposal, saying: “I am not a submissive Jew, this is only the beginning.”

According to Minister Smotrich, the Palestinian Authority is behind the legal proceedings against him in The Hague. He called it “a terrorist organization mistakenly called the Palestinian Authority.” In his words, “The hands are the hands of The Hague, but the voice is the voice of the PA,” and he added that this body “is behind the harm to ministers who dare to implement a policy that stands up to them.”
