The High Court of Justice has begun hearing petitions against the appointment of Michael Rabello as state comptroller. The case centers on two main claims raised by the petitioners.
First, they argue that Knesset members may have been instructed to photograph how they voted in the secret ballot for the post. Second, they contend that Rabello may be in a conflict of interest because he previously served as Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s personal attorney.
The hearing is now under way, with the court set to consider both the voting-procedure allegation and the conflict-of-interest question as it reviews the legality of the appointment.
