The Israeli Chief Rabbinate’s examinations department said today, Wednesday, that it has published results for part of the May exam session in just 36 working days, far ahead of the 90-day deadline it is required to meet. The results were released about a month and a half after the tests were held.
The published results cover several Rabbinate certification exams, including shochtim, menakreim, internal and external inspectors, team leaders, conversion-related subjects, kashrut supervisors, military rabbis, marriage registration, and mitzvot dependent on the land. In the most recent May session, more than 3,800 candidates took the various Rabbinate exams.
The Rabbinate said the faster publication was made possible by significant improvements in the examinations department and by streamlining the grading process. It said the quick release helps examinees prepare, if needed, for a retake in the next session, whose registration is already open.
The Chief Rabbinate added that it views the quality of service to candidates, system efficiency, and lessons learned from each exam cycle with satisfaction, and said the growing number of test-takers from session to session reflects the trust placed in its exams.
