Police in Jerusalem have expanded their investigation into reports of foreign substances found in baby food branded “Prinoq” after the Health Ministry’s findings. The managers of the branches where the tainted product was discovered have been summoned for questioning on Thursday, as investigators seek to determine how the dangerous material entered the food and where it came from.
Jerusalem District Commander Maj. Gen. Avshalom Peled held a special situational assessment in recent hours, received a detailed briefing on actions taken so far and possible investigative leads, and ordered additional steps to trace the source of the contamination. Because of the sensitivity of the case and the need for special investigative measures, the probe has been transferred to the Zion area’s anti-crime unit in the Jerusalem District.
Police also seized all surveillance cameras from the relevant businesses today as part of the sensitive investigation. Officers from the Lev HaBira station went to the two stores to ensure enforcement of the closure order issued by the Health Ministry.
