Angelina Jolie was photographed in New York while promoting her upcoming film "Couture," and drew attention from fans and paparazzi in a black-and-white look. She stepped out in a black Tom Ford strapless gown with a clean, minimal cut, a softly flowing maxi silhouette, and a sweetheart neckline that emphasized the dress’s understated, dramatic style.
She later added a cream-colored long coat by Calvin Klein and dark aviator sunglasses. After stopping to greet fans and take selfies, she removed the coat, revealing the low back of the dress and the many tattoos across her back.
Jolie has described the film as a "very personal" project. The French director and screenwriter Alice Winocour made the movie, in which Jolie plays Maxine, an American filmmaker working in Europe on a fashion show who is diagnosed with breast cancer.
The story also connects to Jolie’s own family history. Her mother, actress Marcheline Bertrand, died in 2007 at age 56 after being diagnosed with ovarian and breast cancer. Jolie later underwent a preventive double mastectomy after learning she carries the BRCA1 gene mutation.
