The White House is facing a new uproar after classified discussions from President Donald Trump’s Situation Room were leaked to The New York Times. Trump is said to be furious and is demanding an immediate criminal investigation, arguing that the disclosures seriously endanger national security. The leaked material includes sensitive details about war strategy on Iran and other security talks.
The immediate trigger for the panic appears to be a new book, "Regime Change," which is due out next week and focuses on Trump’s presidency. Published by Simon & Schuster, the book says it will reveal details from Trump’s so-called "imperial presidency" and is being marketed alongside other critical books about him.
According to the reports, the leaks center on three key Situation Room meetings, including conversations about the Jeffrey Epstein files and the Iran war strategy. The disclosures reportedly included direct quotes from senior officials. Despite the seriousness of the leaks, the Justice Department has not yet opened a criminal investigation.
Administration officials are frustrated by the delay, especially because the White House has not denied the contents of the reported conversations. The New York Times article also claimed that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had supposedly tried to mislead Trump into a war with Iran and suggested the United States was doing Israel’s "dirty work." The article was described in the report as an antisemitic narrative, while noting that Trump has long opposed a nuclear-armed Iran throughout his public career.
