Tel Aviv Stock Exchange Closes Higher Led by Energy and Tech Stocks
The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange concluded trading on a positive note, with its leading indices closing higher. Stocks in the energy and technology sectors were particularly strong, driving the market's upward trend. The TA-35 index saw a gain of 0.65%, while the TA-125 index increased by 0.73%. Among the notable performers on the TA-125 were Camtek, which climbed 7.79%, followed by Nofar Energy up 7.23%, Pricetech gaining 6.01%, Mega Or rising 5.78%, and Qualitao strengthening by 5.37%.
Conversely, several major stocks experienced declines. RP Optical fell by 5.18%, Opko lost 3.39%, Navitas weakened by 2.32%, Summit dropped 2.26%, and Nice retreated 1.96%.
Trading volumes in stocks totaled approximately NIS 2.3 billion. Government bond trading reached about NIS 2.2 billion, with Treasury bills (Mak"am) recording a turnover of around NIS 969 million. In currency markets, the representative rates were set at NIS 3.005 for the US dollar, NIS 3.4932 for the Euro, and NIS 4.0681 for the British Pound.
Meanwhile, US stock futures traded stably, with the S&P 500 hovering near record highs. Investors are closely watching the upcoming August employment data, which is expected to influence market expectations regarding the US Federal Reserve's future interest rate policies.
