Israel Detains 5 Palestinians in Qabatiya, Ends 48-Hour Nablus Operation

The Israeli military announced the arrest of five Palestinians from the Qabatiya area in the northern West Bank, who are suspected of planning an attack against Israelis and security forces. The arrests were based on intelligence from the Shin Bet security agency. Concurrently, the military declared the conclusion of a 48-hour security operation in the Nablus region and surrounding villages, also directed by the Shin Bet.

During the Nablus operation, Israeli forces searched hundreds of locations and interrogated dozens of individuals. Over ten wanted Palestinians were apprehended, and weapons and ammunition were seized. The military also reported destroying and confiscating more than 30 lathes, which it stated were used for weapons manufacturing. The operation focused on locating wanted individuals, seizing weapons, and confiscating manufacturing equipment.

In Qabatiya, the arrested Palestinians were found to be in possession of weapons, including M16 rifles, according to the military. These individuals were handed over to security services for further investigation. The military emphasized that both operations were guided by intelligence provided by the Shin Bet, which was instrumental in identifying the targets and gathering evidence.

The military stated that the confiscated items and apprehended individuals were linked to weapons manufacturing and planned attacks. The details of the ongoing investigations were not disclosed.
