Central Israel Apartment Sells for $350,000 Amid Housing Market Challenges
Finding an apartment for under 1.5 million shekels (approximately $400,000) has become increasingly difficult in Israel, even in peripheral areas. The market is particularly challenging for well-maintained apartments that include parking. Currently, properties without protected spaces, known as Mamad, are more likely to be found at lower price points, though public demand for security features like Mamad remains high, making such deals less attractive.
A rare find in central Israel, a 111-square-meter, four-room apartment on the second floor of a three-story building on Herzl Street in the Azorim neighborhood, was recently sold for 1.32 million shekels (approximately $350,000), including a parking space.
Similar transactions have occurred in Ramla and Lod. In Ramla, a 120-square-meter, four-room apartment on the second floor of a four-story building on Shalom Aleichem Street sold for 1.79 million shekels, while a 76-square-meter, three-room apartment on Chaim Weizmann Street sold for 1.28 million shekels. In Lod, a 70-square-meter, three-and-a-half-room apartment on Barak Street sold for 1.23 million shekels.
Other recent sales reported by Remax include a 141-square-meter, five-room apartment with a Mamad and parking in Be'er Sheva for 1.44 million shekels, and a 70-square-meter, three-room apartment with a Mamad and parking in Holon for 2.215 million shekels. In Jerusalem, a 92-square-meter, four-room apartment in Ramat Beit HaKerem sold for 3.43 million shekels, and a 71-square-meter, four-room apartment in Armon HaNatziv sold for 2.1 million shekels.
