Former Netanyahu Aide Breaks Silence on Alleged Affair and Political Work

Dr. Ruth Bar, a former strategic advisor to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, has broken her silence for the first time regarding their past relationship and her work with him during his early political career. Bar spoke to journalist Ben Caspit for the "Maariv" website, addressing public discourse surrounding a rumored affair.

Bar first met Netanyahu in 1993 during his campaign for the leadership of the Likud party. She initially assisted him by recording election results and later joined his campaign staff. She recalled Netanyahu entering the room where she was working and asking her questions, to which she responded. Shortly after, she was approached by Arad and asked if she would meet with Netanyahu, to which she agreed.

She went on to help Netanyahu improve his performance in foreign media interviews and conducted political research for him. Bar stated that Netanyahu would also call her privately for advice and asked her to analyze his public events. She described working with him on his public speaking, noting that he was not the polished politician he is today and required assistance as he navigated his path to the top.

While Bar did not explicitly confirm the affair, she suggested that Netanyahu himself should address the topic, stating, "Ask him, he runs to the television to talk about it." She also described Netanyahu's "extreme sense of superiority," which she found almost frightening, and his dismissive attitude towards others, whom he referred to as "officials."
