Yisrael Beiteinu Accuses Netanyahu of Ignoring 2016 Hamas Attack Warning

The Yisrael Beiteinu party has released a sharp video attacking Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, presenting a document from Avigdor Lieberman dated December 2016. The party claims Lieberman warned about Hamas at that time and called for a preemptive strike against the military wing's leaders.

The video begins with Netanyahu's remarks about the October 7th Hamas attack, questioning what would have happened if he had been woken up, suggesting the events might have been averted. He is heard saying, "If they had woken me up, you cannot take responsibility for what you do not know."

Yisrael Beiteinu then displays what it calls "Lieberman's secret document" from December 21, 2016, stating it was on Netanyahu's desk and discussed the possibility of a preemptive strike against Hamas military leaders. The party directly attacks Netanyahu, with text in the video reading, "Didn't wake up? Lieberman was shouting back in 2016!" and "You didn't just sleep on the night of October 7th, you stood at attention for years."

The video also incorporates a clip of Sara Netanyahu describing the situation as a "circle of fire around our home" while the message "While you looked for excuses, an entire nation trembled" is displayed. Yisrael Beiteinu links these points to their demand for a state commission of inquiry, stating, "He who is sure of his version does not run from a state commission of inquiry."

The party concludes its attack with a harsh message to the Prime Minister: "Someone warned. Someone was entrusted. Netanyahu, the entire massacre of 10.7 is your responsibility." The video ends with the party's campaign slogan: "Lieberman, Strong in security, strong in the economy."
