New Israel-Focused Hedge Fund Centenario Capital Launches

Businessman David Galperin and investment manager Emil Goldfarb have announced the launch of a new hedge fund, Centenario Capital. The fund has secured initial investment commitments totaling $20 million and is nearing its first closing.

Galperin and Goldfarb are personally investing a significant amount in the fund under the same terms as other qualified investors, who face a minimum entry threshold of $500,000.

Centenario Capital's strategy will concentrate on small and mid-cap global equities, targeting companies with market capitalizations between $250 million and $10 billion. The fund aims to capitalize on potential discrepancies between stock prices and the underlying economic value of businesses, often overlooked due to limited analytical coverage and liquidity constraints that deter institutional investors.

The fund will maintain a concentrated portfolio of 15 to 30 positions, guided by fundamental analysis inspired by Warren Buffett's value investing principles. Goldfarb, formerly an analyst at Clal Insurance, Psagot, and Midroog, will serve as Chief Investment Officer, leading research. Galperin, owner of Gil Group, will oversee business development, operations, and investor relations.

The name "Centenario," Spanish for one hundred years, reflects a long-term investment vision. The fund, registered in the Cayman Islands (CIMA), will operate with professional administration and external parties to ensure transparency and separation for investors.
