Reality TV Couple Tom Haimov and Shahar Chernes Discuss Legal Battles and Wedding Postponement
Reality television stars Tom Haimov and Shahar Chernes, who met on the dating show "Ahava Hadasha" (New Love), have postponed their wedding, originally set for March 2026, to September 22nd of this year. The postponement was attributed to the recent conflict with Iran. In addition to wedding plans, the couple has faced significant personal challenges, including a legal dispute involving Haimov and a former business partner, which is ongoing.
In an interview on the "Walla Ishi" podcast, Haimov and Chernes opened up about the difficulties they have endured. Haimov described a legal battle stemming from business disagreements, stating, "It started as disagreements. It was mainly when you realize that a person doesn't care about the business, they care about what the business gives them." Chernes expressed her distress during this period, recounting how she learned about the legal issues from a friend before Haimov could tell her, leading to a flood of calls and confusion.
The couple also addressed rumors and negative press surrounding Haimov. Chernes admitted to feeling overwhelmed, asking Haimov, "Get us out of this." She described the invasion of privacy, with reporters reaching out to her and even her mother. Haimov acknowledged the toll the situation took, stating he became ill and lost his temper, which was uncharacteristic for him. He also noted that the negative publicity affected his work opportunities, as potential clients were hesitant to associate with someone labeled "the guy with the camera."
Despite these challenges, Chernes emphasized her commitment to Haimov, describing him as a "pure diamond" and expressing her belief in his good nature despite his past nightlife. Haimov reciprocated the sentiment, praising Chernes for her positive outlook and values, which he said helped him transition away from his previous lifestyle. He stated, "Shahar opened the door for me and I felt things I hadn't felt before." The couple also discussed their desire to start a family, with Haimov expressing readiness to become a father, while Chernes wished to enjoy their honeymoon phase first.
Regarding the wedding postponement, Chernes mentioned that some advised against it, calling it "meeting the devil." However, she felt the delay was necessary given the difficult period they were experiencing. Haimov, surprisingly, welcomed the postponement, wanting the legal issues to be resolved before the wedding. Chernes also noted that the original wedding date was close to when the legal troubles surfaced, adding to the stress.
