Convicted Killer of Two Israelis Dies in Prison

Atef Sbeih, who was convicted of murdering Israeli teenager Danny Katz and soldier Dafna Carmon, has died in prison. Sbeih had served 37 years of his sentence before his death.

Five years prior to his passing, Sbeih submitted a clemency request to the President of Israel, seeking his release. This request was made despite Sbeih never expressing remorse for his crimes.

His conviction stemmed from the murders of Danny Katz, a teenager, and Dafna Carmon, a soldier, for which he was found guilty and sentenced.
