Tax Authority Advances Employment Grant Payments for Holiday Season
The Tax Authority has announced that the second installment of the 2025 employment grant will be disbursed early, on September 9, 2026. This payment is scheduled to arrive over a month before the legally mandated deadline.
The authority stated that the accelerated payment aims to provide recipients with funds to prepare for upcoming holidays and associated expenses. The money is expected to reach recipients' bank accounts by the end of next week.
The employment grant is intended for eligible employees and self-employed individuals, designed to improve the financial standing of low-income workers, reduce socioeconomic disparities, and encourage labor market participation. Applications can be submitted online via the Tax Authority's website.
Typically, the grant is paid in installments based on application dates, with the second installment usually due around October 15. However, this year's payment has been moved forward. Eligibility criteria include parents aged 21 and over, and individuals aged 55 and older, regardless of parental status, provided they meet income requirements. Since 2024, an additional payment is available for workers with children under three years old. Furthermore, working women born after January 1, 1960, who are 60 or older and meet the criteria, can apply for an advance on their 2026 employment grant.
The Tax Authority also reminded the public that applications for the 2024 grant are still being accepted online until December 31, 2026.
