Hapoel Be'er Sheva Signs Ghanaian Midfielder Forson From Norwich City

Hapoel Be'er Sheva has signed Ghanaian midfielder Forson, acquired from Norwich City. Forson began his career at the WAFA academy in Ghana, which has a partnership with Red Bull Salzburg. He progressed through Salzburg's system, playing for their second-tier affiliate Liefering, where he recorded six goals and eight assists in 29 appearances.

During his youth, Forson was so dedicated to football that he would sometimes go missing for days to participate in tournaments, leading to him being reported to the police as a missing person on multiple occasions. Described as a dynamic player with a strong left foot, good technique, and aggression, he can operate in various attacking roles. His idol is Bernardo Silva, whom he admires for his ability to retain possession.

Forson played alongside Oscar Gloukh at Salzburg, and they shared the field for 766 minutes across 23 games. Salzburg recalled him from a loan spell at Altach after just half a season due to his development. He made his senior debut for the Ghana national team in March 2024 against Nigeria, with coach Otto Addo noting his confidence and work rate.

In the summer of 2024, Norwich City purchased Forson from Salzburg for approximately 4.5 million euros. His move to England required adaptation to the Championship's physicality and intensity. He faced significant challenges with injuries during his two years at Norwich, suffering three lengthy absences. Despite these setbacks, Norwich viewed him as a talented and versatile player with experience from the Champions League and the Ghanaian national team.

Off the field, Forson enjoys music and has a strong Christian faith, often referencing Psalm 91. He prefers African cuisine, beaches, dogs, TikTok, and summer, and aspires to play in the Premier League.
