Israel Demolishes Homes in Masafer Yatta, Leaving Dozens Homeless

Israeli forces demolished the majority of the village of Tuba in Masafer Yatta on Tuesday, leaving dozens of residents without shelter. The village is located in Area C of the West Bank, under full Israeli security and administrative control.

Residents reported that Israeli forces arrived in the early morning hours and proceeded to demolish approximately 12 structures, including homes, agricultural sheds, and animal shelters. The demolitions were carried out under the pretext of unauthorized construction, a common reason cited by Israeli authorities for demolitions in Area C.

Local activists and residents condemned the demolitions, stating that the structures were built with traditional materials and that the residents had no alternative housing options. They accused Israel of attempting to displace the Palestinian population from the area to make way for settlement expansion.

The Masafer Yatta region has been a focal point of Israeli demolition orders and Palestinian resistance for years. International organizations have repeatedly called on Israel to halt demolitions and evictions in the West Bank, citing violations of international humanitarian law.
