Arab-Jewish Cooperation Key to Political Change, Analyst States

Following a Channel 13 poll showing a 53-53 seat tie between the Netanyahu and opposition blocs, with Arab parties securing 14 seats, Dr. Ghazal Abu Raya stated that the results validate his prior warnings about the necessity of organized political and societal action. Abu Raya pointed to the consolidation of right-wing parties, including the alliance between Smotrich and Feiglin, and the projected 4 seats for Ofir Winter's party, as evidence of the importance of unified forces and organized efforts in politics.

Abu Raya emphasized that the Arab community has a genuine opportunity to increase its political influence. He stressed that higher voter turnout and political participation must move beyond slogans to concrete, organized fieldwork. He further asserted that achieving political and social change requires joint action from both Arab and Jewish communities, built on serious work, dialogue, equality, and mutual respect.

He noted that the 14 seats projected for Arab parties in the poll demonstrate significant political weight among Arab voters. However, translating this weight into actual influence necessitates broad participation, organization, and cooperation among various societal and political groups. Abu Raya concluded that the current political climate, marked by alliances on the right, should motivate the Arab community to enhance its presence and political engagement, urging a shift from observing political shifts to proactive influence.
