Hapoel Beersheba Coach Blames Cowardly Play for Late Draw

Hapoel Beersheba drew 2-2 with Hapoel Haifa in a dramatic match that saw them concede a late penalty, costing them valuable points at home. Naor Segev scored in stoppage time to equalize for Hapoel Haifa.

Following the disappointing result, Hapoel Beersheba coach Ran Kochav expressed frustration, stating the issue wasn't the added time but the team's playing style. "Beersheba is Beersheba because of its philosophy, and if in the final minutes we go backward like cowards, this is the result," he said.

Kochav elaborated that while the first half was strong, the team struggled with Hapoel Haifa's more direct approach in the second half. He downplayed the significance of the final attack, noting Hapoel Haifa had only two shots on target, one from a distance and the other the penalty.

Looking ahead, Kochav announced plans to bring in more players to strengthen the squad, mentioning the recent signing of Amankwah Forson. He described Forson as a player who will bring dribbling skills and contribute to a well-oiled machine.

Player Jabo Istat, who scored against his former club, also voiced disappointment, acknowledging the need for the team to take responsibility and move forward. He expressed confidence in the team's potential and the long season ahead, also welcoming new player Ogrisa.
