Ultra-Orthodox Leader Hints at Leaving Netanyahu Bloc
Rabbi Dov Landau, the leader of the Degel HaTorah party, has suggested that the ultra-Orthodox party might break away from the current bloc led by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Speaking in Tiberias, Rabbi Landau stated that the party is not dependent on any particular prime minister or politician.
He emphasized the supreme importance of Torah study, describing it as the most sublime pursuit in the world and stating that "the study of Torah is equivalent to all the commandments." Rabbi Landau highlighted the difficult situation faced by the world of Torah study, citing increasing government persecution and decrees that burden scholars.
"We are not dependent on so-and-so, or on this prime minister or that one, but solely on the Creator of the world," Rabbi Landau declared. He expressed hope for divine mercy upon the people of Israel, particularly for those dedicated to Torah study.
