Iran Blocks IAEA Inspectors From Nuclear Sites, Internal Report Reveals

Iran continues to deny International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) inspectors access to its nuclear facilities, according to an internal agency report obtained by The New York Times. The report, authored by IAEA Director General Rafael M. Grossi, expresses concern over the "lack of information regarding this material and access to facilities for its verification," citing potential proliferation risks.

Grossi urged Iran to grant inspectors access "with the utmost urgency." The 11-page report was distributed to member states ahead of a board of governors meeting in Vienna next week, where a new censure resolution against Iran is expected.

IAEA inspectors have been barred from critical Iranian enrichment sites, including Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan, since the "With All Your Might" operation began in June 2025. At that time, assessments suggested Iran was already concealing its enriched uranium stockpiles.

An interim agreement signed in June 2025 was intended to grant the agency access to Iranian nuclear sites and limit the country's weapons program through ongoing diplomatic efforts.
