Alanis Morissette Sues Ex-Tour Manager for Extortion

Singer Alanis Morissette has filed a lawsuit in the United States against her former Israeli tour manager, Keren Orinov, accusing her of extortion, fraud, and negligent misrepresentation. Morissette alleges that Orinov threatened to report her to British authorities for alleged drug trafficking unless Morissette agreed to a 15-year employment contract and substantial payments.

The dispute reportedly stems from an incident on July 12, 2025, at a UK airport during Morissette's tour. According to the lawsuit, authorities detained a bag belonging to Orinov that allegedly contained cannabis and xylazine, a veterinary sedative. Morissette claims Orinov admitted the bag and its contents were hers and presented an Israeli medical cannabis license.

Morissette further alleges that after the tour concluded, Orinov and her attorney sent letters demanding Morissette take responsibility for the drugs. The lawsuit states Orinov offered to settle the matter in exchange for a long-term work contract, including salary increases, bonuses, and assistance with obtaining a U.S. work visa.

Morissette is seeking damages and a jury trial. However, Orinov, a former senior executive at Live Nation Israel, initiated legal action first. On August 19, she filed her own lawsuit against Morissette in London's High Court. Details of Orinov's claims and the relief she seeks are not yet publicly clear, and her attorney has not responded to media inquiries.
